Paper Review for a lab
One token per manuscript, bought in bulk
A pack is a one-time payment for Standard review tokens, emailed at purchase. Tokens never expire, so a PI can buy once and hand one to each student as their paper is ready. Each token is one review with the anonymity scan included.

Paying
Invoices, reimbursement and purchase orders
- Reimbursing a card payment
- Every Paper Review result page has a "Get invoice for reimbursement" button that emails a Stripe PDF invoice, with an optional line for your institution or tax ID. For packs and other purchases, email ben@purplelink.llc with the Stripe receipt.
- Paying by purchase order or invoice
- If your purchasing office needs to pay against an invoice before anything is delivered, email ben@purplelink.llc with what you need and the quantity.
- ModernTex for several people
- $10 a person, once. To pay for a group in one transaction and receive a license key for each person, email ben@purplelink.llc.
- Supplier forms
- A W-9 and any supplier registration details are available on request.
Data handling
Where a manuscript goes
For a research office or ethics board, in brief. The privacy policy has the full detail.
- Paper Review and the other paid checks
- The manuscript is sent to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, inputs are retained for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and are not used for model training. Reference titles and DOIs are sent to CrossRef. Purplelink deletes the manuscript and the result 30 minutes after the result is first opened, or after 24 hours if it never is.
- Clinical and patient data
- Do not upload identifiable patient data. Redact it before upload.
- The free tools
- Files are processed in memory to produce the result and are not stored.
- ModernTex and Vitae
- Desktop apps. Files and records stay on your Mac unless you use an optional feature that sends them: ModernTex's AI features go to your own AI account, and Vitae contacts only the services you connect, such as your mailbox or Zotero.
- Payments
- Handled by Stripe on its own checkout page; Purplelink never sees card details. No account is created.
