Purplelink LLC is a one-person software studio in Atlanta, Georgia, founded in 2026 by Benjamin Ampel. It makes tools for academic researchers: ModernTex, a $19.99 native macOS LaTeX editor; Vitae, a free Mac app for tracking submissions, grants and your CV; Paper Review, an AI pre-submission manuscript review from $9; Scholar Utility Belt, a Chrome extension for Google Scholar with a free core; and free in-browser LaTeX and BibTeX tools. It also makes GlobePin, a free iOS travel-mapping app, and Haea, an on-device iOS health app in development.

Haea - iOS (in development)
An on-device iOS health analytics platform. Integrates sleep, nutrition, weight, and biometric data with advanced ML models including Kalman filtering and Granger causality analysis. All computation runs locally - no cloud sync, no third-party SDKs.

An iOS travel tracking app for logging places visited, flights taken, and destinations planned. Features a 3D globe view, statistics dashboard, travel goals, anniversary reminders, and shareable travel postcards via iCloud sync.
