Q: How accurate is the conversion?

It is best-effort. Common entry types and core fields - title, authors, year, journal or book title, volume, issue, pages, publisher, DOI, URL, abstract and keywords - map cleanly. Less common fields or unusual formatting may need a quick manual review.

About this tool

This converter parses each reference into a neutral model - entry type, title, authors, year, container (journal or book title), volume, issue, pages, publisher, DOI, URL, abstract, and keywords - then re-serializes it in your chosen format. It runs entirely in your browser with no network calls at all.

Which formats are supported?

BibTeX, RIS, and EndNote (the tagged .enw / refer style that uses %0, %A, %T…). You can convert from any of these to any other.

How accurate is the conversion?

It's best-effort. Common entry types (journal article, book, conference paper, chapter, report, thesis, web page) and core fields map cleanly. Unusual fields, non-standard tags, or heavily customized BibTeX may not round-trip perfectly - at minimum, title, authors, year, and container are preserved. Give the output a quick scan before using it.

How are authors handled?

Authors are normalized to Last, First. BibTeX joins them with and; RIS uses one AU - line each; EndNote uses one %A line each.

Is my data stored?

No. The whole conversion happens client-side in JavaScript. There is no upload, no server, and nothing is logged or stored.
